NHCS History

In July 1982, the New Hope Christian Day Care Center was established by Pastor Jerry Young, with an ultimate vision of developing a Christian School. New Hope Kindergarten and Day Care Center began serving children ages 3 through 5.

In 1989, the Kindergarten and Day Care Center became New Hope Christian School which served children ages 6 months through first grade.

The first graduation from the elementary school that had grown to serve students through 6th grade was held in May 1994.

In 1997, the Family Life Center was completed and dedicated. The elementary division of New Hope Christian School moved into this new facility.

Our Purpose

Education for Life

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Proverbs 1: 7

The purpose of New Hope Christian School is to assist Christian parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibility to educate and train their children by providing them with a God-centered Christ-honoring education. We provide for the students a comprehensive course of study which will develop the total child: spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.

Because we believe that each child is an image bearer of God and is therefore endowed by God with immeasurable potential, NHCS is committed to instilling within each child a Christian world and life view which will equip the child for life here on earth and for eternity. The children can then be both salt and light as they interact within society.

Committed to God and to the students we serve, each day is begun with devotion and Bible class. Quality academic instruction which integrates faith and learning is provided daily. The faculty and administrator carry out their tasks in a climate which promotes Christian values throughout the environment of the school.

Mission

Our mission is to prepare students for life as Christian role models and leaders who choose character before career, wisdom before scholarship, and service before self.

Philosophy

Because we believe that each child is an image bearer of God an d is therefore endowed by God with immeasurable potential, NHCS is committed to instilling within each child a Christian world and life view which will equip them for life here on earth and for eternity. Then they can be both salt and light as they face life’s challenges and depend upon God’s truth in their continuing growth as an individual.
